I created a new logo for Penina Hotel and Golf Resort near Portimao, Algarve. The hotel was previously managed by Meridian and their branding was very minimal. I unearthed and redrew an old heraldic crest that had been used back when the hotel first opened that features the St. Andrew’s cross of Scotland and pays homage to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the spiritual home of golf.

The logo was developed to work as a linear logo as well as a stacked version – this allows for greater versatility within the brand guidelines.

Rather than a simply inverse of the logo, I have created a reversed version where the St. Andrew’s cross on the shield maintains its original appearance of white on blue.

An A5 landscape brochure was crested to promote the hotel. The wide format allows space to showcase the beautiful hotel and golf photography and allows dual language layouts to have plenty of breathing space

I’ve designed the cover to be clean and to print in 2 colours to keep costs down. The A5 format is ideal for mailing out to guests and agents.

The brand is neatly applied to door hangers for guests and housekeeping staff to quickly understand the meaning of each side.
