Repurposed hotel suite transformed into a luxury day spa
Brand identity, brand system and guidelines, product and packaging design, graphic design and campaign marketing for a luxury day spa in the health & wellness sector.
When Grand Hotel Wien, situated in the heart of Vienna, Austria, converted a sixth floor suite into a luxury day spa, it was always going to ooze class. They needed a logo and a brand system to reflect their ambition, to become a destination spa, not just for guests, but for the discerning Viennese ‘pamperee’.
I came up with a simple logotype with luxury style that references the origin of this new spa and the hotel in which it resides – it’s easily applied to spa amenities and embroidered on to guest towels. The typeface is used across signage and wayfinding throughout the spa and the hotel to bring a consistent visual impact.

This brand system is effective for application across a wide range of guest amenities such as cosmetics and treatments, This white label product approach enforces the brand and gives an important sales opportunity in two directions – the spa guests can purchase the products for use at home, while miniature body soaps are used as the hotel’s in room amenities, thus promoting the use of the spa to hotel guests.

The spa exclusive uses its own branded products for treatments, offering a wide range of face masks and skin cleansers, massage oils and skin creams, essential oils and aromatherapy candles etc. The aromatherapy candles are essential to the relaxation areas within the spa to create a soothing atmosphere and deliver an holistic wellness experience. All No.605 Grand Spa products are available to purchase for hotel and spa guests.
